Attached are tables showing oil and gas production by operator for the state fiscal year from July 1, 2004, through June 30, 2005 (FY2005). Tables were generated from relational databases maintained by the Kansas Geological Survey using data supplied by the Kansas Department of Revenue. Given that productive leases are continuously transferred between operators, production for individual operators may not be current.
During FY2005, a total of 1,723 operators reported oil production of 33,450,046 barrels, which is down from the 34,047,466 barrels reported in FY2004 (Kansas Open-File report 2004-61, http://www.kgs.ku.edu/PRS/publication/2004/ofr2004-61/index.html). The top 20 operators produced 12,357,766 barrels of oil, and accounted for 36.9% of total production (Table 1). A complete listing of oil production for all operators is provided in Appendix 1 (PDF).
Gas production during FY2004 was reported by 885 operators and totaled 388 billion cubic feet (Bcf), which is down from the 414 Bcf reported in FY2004 (Kansas Open-File report 2004-61, http://www.kgs.ku.edu/PRS/publication/2004/ofr2004-61/index.html). The top 20 operators produced 298 Bcf of gas, and accounted for 76.8% of total production (Table 2). A complete listing of all operators is provided in Appendix 2 (PDF).
