KGS Open File Report 2006-31
Attached are tables showing oil and gas production by operator for the state fiscal year from July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006 (FY2006). Tables were generated from relational databases maintained by the Kansas Geological Survey using data supplied by the Kansas Department of Revenue. Given that productive leases are continuously transferred between operators, production for individual operators may not be current.
During FY2006, a total of 1,784 operators reported oil production of 34,830,549 barrels, which is up 1.4 million barrels from the 33,450,046 barrels reported in FY2005 (Kansas Open-File report 2005-52, http://www.kgs.ku.edu/PRS/publication/2005/2005-52/index.html). The top 20 operators produced 12,550,343 barrels of oil, and accounted for 36.0% of total production (Table 1). A complete listing of oil production for all operators is provided in Appendix 1.
Gas production during FY2006 was reported by 917 operators and totaled 373 billion cubic feet (Bcf), which is down from the 388 Bcf reported in FY2005 (Kansas Open-File report 2005-52, http://www.kgs.ku.edu/PRS/publication/2005/2005-52/index.html). The top 20 operators produced 283 Bcf of gas, and accounted for 75.8% of total production (Table 2). A complete listing of all operators is provided in Appendix 2.
